“I have been receiving spiritual direction for a number of years. Not only have I grown in my awareness of the ways in which God is present in my life, but I have also grown in my ability to be present and loving to myself. That sort of deep grounding has helped my relationships and the way I am in the world. Most importantly, it has helped me to set boundaries, to feel loved and to continually discern the way forward. Stephanie is a deep listener, skilled in helping me discern spiritual movements and respond to them in total freedom.”

“Spiritual direction has helped me with clarity in my prayer life. I feel I have a deeper connection with Jesus. It has also given me courage to share with others. It helps with opening the door to my soul. For me it’s like a flower that is opening. Spiritual direction provides opportunity for growth. I have experienced “Aha” moments that I would have missed had I not had a guide to walk with me. It is a gentle loving experience where I share my prayer life with another.”

“I began Spiritual Direction in July 2019. It was something I felt drawn towards and so I ‘took the leap.’ I already had a good relationship with Stephanie so that made it an easy ‘yes.’ Now I realize that much of my commitment ended there…I did no preparation between meetings, I offered very little of myself beyond ideas and superficial thoughts. Spiritual Direction was another slot in my busy schedule.

Then about a year after entering my grief journey following my husband’s death, I decided to enter into the experience of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. The Exercises challenged me to be more open, to allow space fo God in my entire day, and to verbalize my desire to KNOW that God loves me as I am. The concrete changes that I can identify since that time are numerous: daily sign of openness to God as I now sit/stand with open hands raised during my praying of the Our Father; the fact that I now embrace an opportunity to share in a colloquy with Jesus, with Mary, and with the Holy Spirit; my recognition that my ability to sing is and always has been a grace granted to me by God. I am becoming more comfortable with the use of my imagination in prayer and have allowed deeper and more personal relationships to grow with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. No longer is God confined to my time of prayer.”
